Refund and Return Policy

This policy covers returns, refunds, exchanges, and order cancellations for purchases made on pmctechlife.co.za. It applies to all orders placed by South African consumers and operates in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

Defective or Faulty Goods — 6-Month Warranty

If a product is defective, faulty, unsafe, or not of acceptable quality at the time of delivery, you may return it within 6 months of the delivery date. This right is provided under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act.

For defective or warranty claims:

  • You may elect a full refund, replacement unit, or repair — the choice is yours.
  • PMC TechLife covers all return shipping costs for confirmed defective items.
  • Items may be inspected before a resolution is confirmed.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, physical impact, incorrect installation, or normal wear and tear falls outside warranty cover.

Change-of-Mind Returns — 7-Day Window

You may return an item within 7 days of delivery if you change your mind about the purchase. This applies to online orders only, in line with Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).

To qualify for a change-of-mind return, the item must:

  • Be unused and in its original, resalable condition.
  • Include all original packaging, accessories, and documentation.
  • Be returned to our authorised dispatch warehouse (address provided upon approval).

Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the customer's responsibility. There are no handling or restocking fees on approved returns.

Items Excluded from Change-of-Mind Returns

The following cannot be returned for change-of-mind reasons:

  • Gift cards and store credit.
  • Custom or personalised items.
  • In-ear devices and personal sound amplifiers (hygiene exclusion — once opened).
  • Any item explicitly marked as non-returnable at the point of sale.

These exclusions apply to change-of-mind returns only. Your right to return a defective item within the 6-month warranty period is not affected.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. If you'd like a different product, return the original item through our returns portal and place a new order. This ensures faster processing and accurate stock allocation. Return shipping for exchanges follows the same rules as change-of-mind returns.

How to Start a Return

All returns require prior authorisation. Do not send items back without completing this step — unapproved returns cannot be accepted at our warehouse.

  1. Visit pmctechlife.returnscenter.com.
  2. Enter your order number and the email address used at checkout.
  3. Select the item and your reason for return.
  4. Wait for your return authorisation and shipping instructions before sending anything.

Refund Processing

  • Refunds are processed only after the returned item has been received and inspected at our warehouse.
  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method — no store credit is issued without your consent.
  • Processing time is 5–7 business days from approval. Paystack refunds typically reflect within this window; Peach Payments refunds within 3–5 business days. Your bank's own processing time may add 1–3 additional business days.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed on our side.

Order Cancellations

  • Orders may be cancelled at no charge before they are dispatched.
  • Cancellations before dispatch result in a full refund to the original payment method, processed within 5–7 business days.
  • Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled. You will need to accept delivery and initiate a return through our returns portal.
